What's Defines Your Vacation? Adventure, Travel, Food? What?

This week, I've been getting ready for my first real vacation since the pandemic started. I know I've gotten away for a few days off here and there. But what I mean by a "real vacation" is that it's more than a week; it's someplace new, and it has an element of adventure.

I’m hoping we’re not too late to see the tulips. Paris is on the same latitude as Seattle, WA so I have some hope and I googled it.

I'm leaving on Saturday for New Jersey, where I'll spend a few days with a friend whose house is in chaos; she's having three bathrooms remodeled. I can't remember what got planned first, the trip or the remodel. But I can tell you we booked our flights at the right time. The flight to NJ was $87.00 back in February. When I tried to change it, because of the chaos, the airline wanted another two hundred dollars. The change fees are gone. The price increase is because of Russia's war in Ukraine. Then early next week, the two of us will fly to Paris and meet up with two other artist pals for a week of everything Monet, eating, and laughter. Some how I’ll get some Matisse in there too.

After Paris, it's back to the US for a relaxing reunion with my best friend from college, who lives on Long Island, and a visit with my sister in Queens. When I return to Raleigh, I hope there will be a bit of a new me. I'll talk to you again in a few weeks.
