Happy Thursday, and thanks for coming out on Sunday. You made the day a success. It was lovely to see you, and I enjoyed catching up.
The tower is in the kiln for the first firing. Plans for the drawing are coming together in my mind, and I'm excited to start.
I need six or seven tiles to fill the kiln, it’s even better when you have filler pieces like 4” tiles or Christmas ornaments to place around them.
I'm returning to a productive rhythm at the studio, and feedback from Sunday's customers on creating more birds with small thrown pedestals was a hit. I've glazed three 12" tiles and made three birds. By the week's end, I'll have the sculptures finished. After that, I'll be glazing away until the Boylan Heights ArtWalk on December 4th, from noon to five. Now's the time to place custom orders.
Birds hanging about the studio while the clay gets harder for more detailed work and shaping.
