Welcome to the Studio Open House

A bluebird house with purple hydrangeas, squirrels, robins, and a bluebird.

A new birdhouse. Fresh from the kiln. It features squirrels, a bluebird, and a robin, all feeding around a hydrangea bush.

I've been glazing new work, cleaning the studio, buying beverages, and planning treats for our Open House and Demonstration Day. There will be no tricks at this event, and no costumes are necessary. The weather looks to be gorgeous that day; I hope you and your family will come out to watch a variety of clay and glaze-related demos.

My studio mates, Xena Electra Ceramics and Liz Kelly Pottery, will also demonstrate. Liz will be throwing outside, Xena will be pinching, and I'll be coiling birds and demoing my glaze technique.

Open House, Demonstration Day, and Seconds Sale
Sunday, October 23rd, from 12 pm till 4 pm.

The bird's finial is sitting on its pedestal; when that was hard enough, I added holly leave and berries.

I'm finishing up the tower project. The bird is now sitting in a holly bush, and you'll be able to see the finished but unfired piece on Sunday. I'll demo how to build the birds and show you how I glaze.

I'll also have a selection of older work at reduced prices, making room for the new work for the ever-magnificent Boylan Heights ArtWalk. That event will be on December 4th, from 12 pm to 5 pm.
