Want to Bring Personality and Nature to Your Condo?

In May, a couple introduced to my work by the Boylan Heights ArtWalk visited the studio wanting a mural for their kitchen backsplash. The area in their new Raleigh condo needed a fresh and more personal feel.

The “before” images and measurements sent by the customer at the beginning of the project. The job includes two murals, one behind the sink and one over the stove.

They kept the cabinets, replaced the granite countertops with soapstone, switched out the plumbing fixtures and appliances. For a more personal touch, they added art tile to the backsplash. The project went off without a hitch on our end, but pandemic delays stalled the renovation till late Summer. At last, it's complete, and they're enjoying their new kitchen.

A mural depicting Raleigh in Spring was installed behind the sink and a fun mural of violets was placed behind the stove.

Here’s a few more pictures to help you get a better feel.

"I love the violets over the range and especially the custom insects you added to the tiles to represent my granddaughters Leona Grace "Bug" and Lucille Beatrice "Bee."

“It was great seeing you this morning! We love the backsplashes you designed for us. We asked for "Springtime in Raleigh" and you absolutely delivered. I love standing at the sink and feeling like I'm looking out a window on lovely dogwoods, irises and (my favorite) violets. The backsplash gives the kitchen so much character and brings nature into our downtown condo. I love the violets over the range and especially the custom insects you added to the tiles to represent my granddaughters Leona Grace "Bug" and Lucille Beatrice "Bee". Looking at it while cooking warms my heart. You are an outstanding artist and a lovely person to work with.” –Amy W.
