Each mug is stamped with my logo, the event, and year.
The squirrel mug features my drawing of a squirrel playing an acorn mandolin with Raleigh, NC in its tail.
I've been waiting on pins, needles and anxiety for my mug decals to arrive. In the past, it seemed as simple as just waiting for the person with the machine to print them. This time, I went with a different, more commercial company and had to wait my turn. Then the two-day shipping turned into four, and now I'm sitting in my studio with a bunch of white mugs waiting for UPS to deliver. I spent Monday evening cutting the decals apart to fire on Tuesday. The decals are fussy little things; if I over-pack the kiln or not give them enough air, I might lose the red and yellow. That would be disappointing.
It's Wednesday; all the mugs and ornaments have been fired and look great! The decals have a matte finish, giving them a toned-down look. They're dishwasher—and microwave-safe, so you can enjoy using them as much as you'd like. AND I ACTUALLY HAVE THEM ON THE WEBSITE FOR YOU TO PURCHASE!!! There’s a limited amount: 24 wide open mugs and 15 squirrels. I also have ornaments that you can see on the website.
The festival's crafts section is on Friday and Saturday. Because of hurricane Helene Friday will start at 5pm and go to 11pm. Saturday will start at noon and also end at 11pm. If you'd like to visit me at the show, I'll be in booth 55 on Fayetteville Street between Harrgett and Martin Streets.
The wide open bluegrass mug has an acorn mandolin with 2024 next to the “h” in Raleigh.
