Your Support Has Encouraged My Word for the Year

Gem always has my support and that joy is why I’d like to volunteer at SPAC.

Although not all of you comment on the blog, I'm grateful that many of you tell me how much you enjoy it when you see me. It makes my heart glow; I'm so incredibly thankful for your support.

Because it's a new year, it's also time to pick a new theme, word, or intention. Inspired by you, mine will be support as in donating time to one of my favorite charities, like SPAC, Habitat for Humanities, or Urban Ministries. Another way is to help new potters get their studios up and running, so I'm working on a few PDFs meant to save them time while looking for glazes that will work on dark clays, which is my specialty.

Leslie and I support each other by editing each other's blogs. We also work with other friends/artists to help one another reach our goals.

I want to take this theme further by inserting support into my daily routine by being intentionally helpful with my comments and being present when I'm listening. And the biggest day-to-day challenge for me is at the supermarket. The person in front of me always turns around and says, "You're in a hurry. Please go ahead of me." I'm not in a hurry, I hate waiting, and I equally detest the self check out machine. Success for me will be to stand in line and not have the person ahead of me feel my energy. In that way, I'll be supporting them and not the reverse. I'm interested to hear themes and changes you’re invested in making; please comment below.
