Thanks to the search phrase "pottery classes near me," my Saturday and Sunday Classes for two are booking like hotcakes. You and a loved one or friend come to the studio, and I'll teach you a fun and easy way to make lovely functional plates. The two of you chat while creating memories and a unique line of dinnerware and platters for sharing food and meals that will only lead to more fun.
Each person gets a slab of clay, about 3' x 2', to decorate by pressing a range of stamps, stencils, or block prints, into the clay. Using forms, you'll squish your plates into existence by pressing the shape into a thick piece of foam, forcing the clay to hug the form. You make the pottery; I'll glaze and fire it. Your pottery will be ready for pickup the following week.
Geared toward the clay-curious, the class is suitable for first-timers and children over 10. Give a class as a gift or use it to celebrate newlyweds, a 9th wedding anniversary, a weekend date, a sober curious outing, Valentine's Day, Galentine's Day, Palentine's Day, a birthday, or explore something new. Classes are $100.00 per person. Sign up and schedule a class for two people on the class page. Contact me if you'd like a class for three or four people.
"Highly recommend! My friend and I spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon with Marina for a private pottery class. Hospitality, fun conversation, and kind, professional guidance as we created our MANY plates and trays. This class would be a great creative experience to combine with a stay at the super cool Heights House hotel two blocks away. Also, the studio is an easy walk to Wye Hill restaurant, so weekend brunch/lunch and this class would be a nice downtown Raleigh pairing!"
