Functional and Fun Sculptures That Literally Light up Your Life

Two of my new spring colors are golden amber and island turquoise.

Inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year and the new color trends that come with it, I'll be doing my first formal Spring Collection and shop update in April! I'm creating new lamps and introducing decorative platters that'll be useful and beautiful to hang.

Why table lamps? They're functional and fun sculptures for your home that literally light up your life. Handmade fits with the Arts and Crafts movement. The concept of giving you good honest design while closing the gap between artistic workers and the public, and I get to share my love of creating with you.

Our choices about our surroundings set the tone of our homes, reflect our inner world or style and create warmth. Table lamps come in many styles, shapes, and colors, and finding one that matches your idea of beauty is easier than ever.

Luminance is one of the best reasons to use a table lamp. Illuminating a particular area is beneficial for working or reading. It lights what's essential while cutting down on distractions. They're best next to a bed, in a dark place, or next to an entrance. A bit of light upon coming home after dark is pleasant, and it's easier on your eyes when sitting in a dark room while enjoying a movie or television show.

Atmosphere or vibe communicates an emotional state felt by others when they come into your space. Nothing sets the mood or transmits what's in store better than light. Here's a pdf I found on bulb wattage for task lighting.

Using a combination of throwing and coil building, I'm expanding my usual selection from one-of-a-kind lamps to taller pairs that match. With brighter colors coming in for Spring, I'm looking forward to playing with the new pallet I created for last year's public art piece. Next week I'll tell you all about the platters.
