National Making Life Beautiful Day is Thursday. It's been a rough few weeks for our country. A National day is an invitation to come together. Each of us can find beauty in the everyday and create it with acts of kindness and awareness.

I don't know about you, but I've seen an abundance of bunnies in my neighborhood this last month.

Social distancing, being alone, or too much togetherness are good reasons to participate. A few ways to practice are:

  • Accomplish a goal, big or small. Organize a drawer, rearrange a corner, or clean a mess that someone else made.

  • Cherish your home and people. Listen with attention when others are talking, walk with awareness, or meditate.

  • Finish a project that's been lingering. Maybe a manuscript, a knitting project, or order custom tile for your kitchen.

  • Flourish by making a special somewhere. Light candles, incense, or purchase a new piece of artwork.

  • Replenish yourself and others by giving money or time. Volunteer at a food bank, Habitat for Humanity, or donate to your favorite cause.
