Stepping Back and Coming up New

Wow, you go away for a week, and life changes! Even in a pandemic, people are growing, advancing, and making dreams come true. Upon returning home from my annual Thanksgiving at the beach, I learned one of my very talented studio mates is busting out on her own. She has big plans, and when she's ready to share, I'll tell you about it.

Although I'll miss her presence in the studio, like they say, when one door closes, another one opens. And for me, that means the space to teach again, something I've truly missed. There's nothing like watching someone get that lightbulb moment; eyes lit up, big smile, and puffy chest.

“Marina has an unmatchable clarity and an incredibly sharp eye, she’s dedicated both to her art and to the integrity of the form. In other words, she will not let you fail—and I learned so much from the observations, guidance, and feedback she offer…

“Marina has an unmatchable clarity and an incredibly sharp eye, she’s dedicated both to her art and to the integrity of the form. In other words, she will not let you fail—and I learned so much from the observations, guidance, and feedback she offered while I worked with her. I came to Marina with little to no prior experience with ceramics, and she spurred and supported me to create and finish a beautiful project in the limited time I had with her. I learned a great deal more than I would have bargained for in three or four days.” –Emma G.

With lots of folks looking for extra activities. The studio is large enough for us to safely have three people in the studio. I'm open to doing mother/daughter or father/son classes. Or maybe send me your teens for a day of clay play.

Space is such an incredible gift. People frequently tell me that my studio is magical. I believe that what makes a room feel enchanted is a dedication to purpose. What makes a room a studio, it's intended for creativity. I'm excited to start rearranging, playing with new studio layouts, and planning classes for the New Year.
