A Messy and Dirty Week in Review

A mess.jpg

The election has been messy. I've spent the last week working at the potter's wheel, and I think I can recognize a mess when I see one. Every day and year after year potters, take lumps of clay and transform them into functional or elegant forms; the best of us do both at the same time. I'm very proud to be an American right now, not because of who we elected, but because of the professionalism of our election officials who worked tirelessly and efficiently to bring this election to a clean, clear, and safe ending. I encourage you to have faith, be grateful, and not to give up on your dreams.

While I've been at the wheel, I made more of the skinny bud vases, some chubby doughboys, and then just for the fun of it, I made some mugs. The mug part was easy; making the handles, like the week, was challenging. I'll post the finished work later this week on Instagram. Oh, and here are a few more ornament designs.
