My fabulous fantasy totem gets featured in Midtown Magazine, so thrilling.
Getting an email whose subject line starts with the word interview is always fun. In this case, it was for Midtown and 5 West magazines.
I laughed out loud; I bet you'll smile—the ups and downs of potter's life.
I have long known that clay engages your heart, soul, mind, and body. I've felt this grip most of my life. Earlier this year, I unintentionally illustrated the connection between my body and what I make.
Lamp Shades Are to Vases Like Hats Are to Kentucky Derby
These days I'm all in on table lamps. The parts and my first wholesale lampshade order have arrived. Since returning from TileFest, I've been coil-throwing new lamps. My eagerness to work has been revitalized.
How to Celebrate National Clay Week and Father’s Day
It's always such a great feeling when you give the right gift. If you think a pottery class with Dad would be a great outing, I've got two spots open this weekend. You can keep the celebration going for years with plates you've made together on Father's Day. Classes are for two, three, or four people.
"Best Mother's Day gift ever!" says Bernadette.
Just before TileFest, I got a happy customer photo from NJ. They had just finished installing the Garden Fantasy Tower/sculpture commission I did just before Christmas last year.
What's the best possible experience for an artist at a craft show?
The best experience is to make expenses and some profit on the first morning. That's what happened to me this past weekend at TileFest held at the TileWorks of Bucks County in Doylestown, Pa. This scenario allows you to relax and appreciate everyone enjoying the event as an activity, who aren't necessarily shopping, but sometimes they are. I had two such experiences that were delightfully fun that I want to share with you.
TileFest '23 & the Moravian Tileworks and Pottery
Today I'm off to TileFest '23, previously known as the Moravian Tile Festival and still hosted by the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works in Doylestown, PA. It's the first craft fair I've attended since the pandemic's start.

Life Happens to You While You're Busy Making Other Plans
At the beginning of the year, I picked the word support as my theme. The idea was that I'd be more supportive of others. But then life happened.
The reason behind why I have no new work to show you.
I started the year off with a passion for making extraordinary lamps. All through January, I was throwing and coiling them into existence; and had a nice batch made when disaster happened.
#EmbraceEquity Art Tile Fundraiser
This week celebrates International Women's Day (3/8/23), and March honors Women's History. This year's Women's Day theme is Embrace Equity, something I've been trying to do in my small world between home and studio.
A Memory for Valentine's Day
While looking for Valentine's inspiration I came across an image that sent me down memory lane. Here I share my mom's most prized possession, one that represents love on a variety of levels, and how it came to be.
A National Day that celebrates art tile. What will they think of next?
Today, February 23rd, is National Tile Day. There's a lot to emphasize when talking about tile. Some of my favorites are (1) that it will look good for years. (2) Tile is versatile, and the options are endless, and (3) my favorite is that there's nothing like tile for turning your fireplace surrounds, kitchen backsplashes, walls, murals, pools, and table tops into a fantastic feature.

In honor of my birthday month and Valentine's Day, I'm having a site and studio-wide sale of 20% off. While I'm celebrating, I thought it would be in the spirit of the holiday to help you celebrate the ones you love with this offer.
Fine Craft & Craft Breweries: How the two connect the physical expression of the visionary mind.
Why is a potter talking about beer? These breweries are hitting such delicate and subtle balances of flavors that soon we'll be using the word fine to describe beer, the way we use it to reference fine art, fine wine, and fine craft. Beer is now an art form.

Thanks to the search phrase "pottery classes near me," my Saturday and Sunday Classes for two are booking like hotcakes. You and a loved one or friend come to the studio, and I'll teach you a fun and easy way to make lovely functional plates.
What's brave, promotes joy and optimism, and creates exuberant celebration?
Magenta is the color of universal harmony and emotional balance. It contains the passion, power, and energy of red, restrained by the introspection and quiet energy of violet.
Your Support Has Encouraged My Word for the Year
Although not all of you comment on the blog, I'm grateful that many of you tell me how much you enjoy it when you see me. It makes my heart glow; I'm so incredibly thankful for your support.
New Work for the Boylan Heights ArtWalk and my Fabulous Commission
I've done nothing but work this week so I’m going to let the pictures do the talking in this blog post.
The Emotional and Genuine Ups and Downs and Disasters of Ceramics
Every profession has its ups and downs, but in ceramics, it's literal. The kiln's temperature rises to melt the glazes, hovers to allow the gases to escape, and slowly drops, allowing the chemicals to create vibrant colors.
I’m selfish, I wont share your information with anyone.
