Vacationing with Covid

There's nothing like being rewarded for hard work, like having a relaxing vacation where you can refresh and reenergize your creative flow by letting your mind wander over an endless sea or colorful mountain range. I wish I were doing that instead of recovering from Covid for the second time. I've been recuperating from one thing or another since last September when I had my first knee surgery. Being waited on, needing help, and the overall feeling of dependency is old after almost five months.

I've done a lot despite it:

  • Prepared for two-holiday shows

  • PT for my knees

  • Decorated my home and studio for Christmas

  • Did ArtWalk and Handmade Holiday shows

  • Hosted Christmas dinner

  • Created the work for Symbols of Home

  • Making new dinnerware for myself

Not staying still is why I'm a vegetable on the sofa, endlessly watching sappy Hallmark TV shows, where the streaming service keeps asking me if I'm still there.

Just before feeling ill I started working on some new dinnerware for myself.

There is lots to be excited for if I had the energy:

  • A birthday trip to Wilmington at the end of the month

  • Visiting my artist's group in New Jersey in March

  • A pottery class in Tuscany at the end of April

As the Covid haze lifts, classes are filling up, and I'm sure I'll be my snarky self in time to enjoy all the fun I have planned and what life may offer.
