Valentine's | Galentine's Day Pottery Classes and Coffee Cafe

Whoever you want to share some love with this Valentine's Day, I invite you to do it with clay. While my Sundays have filled up, the Saturdays of February 10th, 17th, and 24th are open and waiting for you and a loved one to come and make memories. Unlike flowers, your ceramic creations will last a lifetime; each time you see a plate, you'll remember the day, the person, and the fun.

In the first hour and half of the class we texture a 3’ x 2’ sheet of clay, using molds we press the clay into plates, when ready the plate’s edges are finished, and the bottoms smoothed. After the class I fire, glaze, and finish fire the plates. You pick them up a week later and they’re ready to use, all microwave and dishwasher safe. You can also write love notes to the people you’d like to gift them to.

Speaking of spending quality time together. Thank you to all who came out for my opening last week. It was a wonderful mix of friends, past customers, and people new to my work. This time, I remembered asking my friend and professional photographer, Cheryl Gottshall, to take candid shots with her phone so I could share the Rebus Works event with you.

One of the perks of doing a show at Rebus's cafe and grocery is that you get your very own coffee flavor of the month. Mine is an Ethiopia-Colombia blend. It's a light/medium roast with floral sweetness and notes of lemon. I do not know the man who wrote the description, but I can tell you that the characterization is a bullseye: the coffee is delicious. If you go by the cafe and order a drip coffee, you can experience this tasty blend.

Double the meaning this Valentine's Day by taking a class, seeing the show, and having breakfast or lunch at Rebus Works Cafe and Grocery! You can also pick up a pound of coffee with a Cracker Jack like prize made by me and a limited edition Sir Walter Raleigh mug.
