This body of work was actually inspired by negativity. Marina was feeling down from all of the bad economic news she heard on the radio. When a friend sent Marina a picture of Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of abundance, Marina posted the image on the wall above her glazing station. Each time Marina heard something negative, she would look at Lakshmi, one of the four aspects of the divine mother, and smile at her. Together they'd acknowledge abundance is in and around us at all times. We just aren’t always aware of it. With that new perspective, Marina began a the ceramic tile artwork series of the Divine Feminine. To read blog posts about this series click here and here.
