We’ll be show at Rebecca and Wann’s of Ancient Fires Glass. It’s the first or last stop on the tour depending were you start. I’m wanted to share some photos before I go.

I had a crazy glazing weekend. With husband at Shikori Hills Grassroots Festival, I was free to be my workaholic self. Friday I finished up the work I’d startted during the week and on Saturday and Sunday I worked on a series of long thin pieces that will display together or stand alone. I was really pleased with the movement of the figures and the negative space that they created.

Working 12 hour days sets you up to make goofy mistakes. Saturday evening I loaded the kiln setting it to fire about a thousand degees less than what the glazes needed to mature and ended up waiting excitedly for a kiln opening of half fired pieces.

The tile tops for the tables are finished and beautiful. They have the feel of worn leather. The pattern fits the bases, the colors are sophisticated and give the pattern a sense of style.

The tiles are a bit big and will take some cutting and adjusting to fit them into the frames but I’ve designed the pattern and the grout lines to accommodate the need to slim the tiles down. I prefer erring on the larger side, it’s easier to fix than if the tiles are too small.
