It’s cool on You Tube and it’s even cooler in person. DiVine, one of the Living Vines is roving the gardens at the StateFair daily.
While I was finishing up the floor order this small but charming order came in for a kitchen backsplash. The tiles, which are six inches by ten inches, will be placed on either side of the stove. When the customer selected the colors there was a question mark in my head as to how the colors will work. I am totally delighted with how they came out and so is she, her and her husband even came by and visited me at the fair.

The two 6" x 10" tiles glazed and ready for the kiln.
The way the glazes blended together on this project gives the tiles an impressionistic feeling.
These colorful sculptures greet you as you enter the garden competition at the NC State Fair.
In the third picture you can see small Christmas lights sparkling in the base of the closest sculpture.
Some of these brightly painted lamp shades have been turned into fountains and bird feeders.
